THREE WAYS TO USE
You can use Young Living Essential Oils three ways. Always follow usage direction on the label. Dilution ratios for topical and internal use are specific to adults, not children or babies.
AROMATIC USE
The sense of smell is the only sense that can have an immediate impact on the emotional region of your brain. That's why a YL Diffuser is KEY! It's made from special plastic that's able to withstand these therapeutic-grade essential oils. Be careful not to use your oils in other brands of diffusers without knowing what they're made of, and NEVER use them in humidifiers. Citrus oils WILL draw toxins out of other plastics and may melt them.
Besides the diffuser, you can get immediate results by sniffing your bottle of oil, using a nasal inhaler, applying drops to a cotton ball and inserting in vents in your home or car, and on diffuser jewelry, such as bracelets and necklaces. Check out the Aromatic Use graphic for more information about using your Young Living Essential Oils aromatically.
TOPICAL USE
Essential oils can also be used topically, meaning applied directly to the skin, in a variety of ways. There are a couple of terms that are important to understand when using oils topically:
💧 “Neat” means using an essential oil without diluting it with a carrier oil, or straight from the bottle.
💧 “Carrier Oils” are vegetable oils obtained from plants that are fatty and non-volatile and are usually used to dilute essential oils (example: Olive oil, Coconut oil, Grapeseed oil, Jojoba oil, etc.). When deciding what carrier oil to use, look for organic, unrefined, and cold-pressed on the label for the purest carrier oils. Carrier oils can slow evaporation of essential oils.
Some easy ways to use your essential oils topically are to make a roll-on, cream, or ointment. Apply this directly to the desired area or VitaFlex points (google VitaFlex points for a diagram). Check out the Topical Use graphic for more information about using your Young Living Essential Oils topically.
DIETARY USE
Young Living Vitality Essential Oils are able to be used as a dietary supplement. Some easy ways to use your Young Living Vitality Essential Oils internally are in capsules, in a beverage, or in your favorite food recipes. Remember that essential oils are very potent, and a little goes a long way, so start with 1 drop. Check out the Internal Use and Vitality graphics for more information about using your Young Living Essential Oils internally.
